This short film is called, 'Cubs' and was directed by Tom Harper and made in 2006. It's about a young boy and his female friend trying to get accepted into the local gang in the area and the young lad jumps through all the hoops laid down for him at the cost of his own beliefs when he kills a fox for sport.
Annie showed us this film in lesson to demonstrate the 3 act structure.
The inciting incident - the man arrives
Plot point one - he follows the leader to get picked
Mid point - when he corners the fox
Plot point two - shoots the fox (he has two options at this point, he can shoot the fox, or choose not to)
Resolution - becomes part of the gang
Who's story is it? Young boy
What does he want? To be part of the gang
Why can't he have it? Too young, he's not ready
What happens when they get it? He regrets it
What does that person really need? Not to be in the gang
